Kat Von D For Sephora: Kat Dishes on Her Look & Fave Makeup
“People have always asked me what I would be doing if I wasn’t a tatoo-er,” says Kat Von D, reality TV star and owner of LA’s High Voltage Tattoo. “The only other thing I could imagine is doing makeup!” Kat’s love for makeup is immediately apparent when you see her apply her signature look—a sexy combo of Old Hollywood Glamour and modern LA edge. And she certainly knows her stuff! At our photo shoot, Kat did her own makeup—in a speedy 15 minutes (it usually takes an hour for makeup artists to finish a look!). Here I’m mimicking the ultra dramatic look of the Diva herself, Miss Kat Von D. As a base before you get started, I recommend using a bronzer of your choice. Also, when applying the star tattoos, if you have a stencil, that’s awesome. Otherwise, try to use a liquid eye liner with the finest tip you can find. I was out of my liquid, so I just used my pencil. Liquid will last longer, and look more delicate. If you find the black too dark, try a dark grey liquid for the stars.
Sorry for the bad lighting, I did this right before bed, so it was dark!

Kat Von D—the tattoo artist we know and love (and want to be) from L.A. & Miami Ink—has decorated a super-exclusive and edgy line just for Sephora! We caught up with her for a preview of her super edgy new product line (she’s wearing it in the video - loving that black green shadow) that will be debuting at Sephora in mid May. Check out the packaging–she designed it herself based on one of her favorite rose tattoos. The lipstick? Only in shades of red. The product names? Totally personal: Her signature palette is named after her cat, Ludwig.
